To be more precise, I am a lighting and scenic designer as well as a scenic painter, model-maker, graphic designer, puppeteer, fine artist and a professional coffee drinker.
The spiel:
I was born in Houston, Texas and my interest in the arts began at a very early age. After eventually attending the High School for Performing and Visual Arts with an emphasis in design, I received my BA in Theatre Arts from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. I continued my training in design at The University of Iowa, where I earned my Dual MFA in Theatre Arts (Lighting and Scenic Design) in May 2017.
Among my favorite design credits are Iphigenia Crash Land Falls on the Neon Shell that was Once Her Heart (a rave fable), Mr. Burns, a post-electric play and The Revolutionists. In addition to these, I had the privilege to be part of The University of Iowa’s winning design team at SOFA Connect Chicago 2015 which you can read about here.
Currently, I’m serving as a guest Scenic and Lighting Designer at UIowa for their mainstage production of Seven Spots on the Sun by Martin Zimmerman. I’m also looking forward to projects with Theatre EVOLVE and Pride Films and Plays in Chicago, IL.
In the past I've also worked for PCPA: Pacific Conservatory Theatre, Red Theater Chicago, Strawdog Theatre Company, Roughhouse Theatre, The Glimmerglass Festival and The Hangar Theatre.
As a human person, you can find me stalking the aisles of a dusty bookstore, trying new tequila-based cocktails or nose-deep in a graphic novel (when I’m not sketching ideas for my own).
But enough about me.
What can I do for you?
